Overview: The narrative poem, “The Epochal Discovery” was composed by Aathika Tanyeem Eajaz (myself) in the year 2018. It takes the reader on a mental time travel from the pre-plastic era to the contemporary plastic age for the purpose of reflecting upon the dilemmas faced by humanity in the subsequent eras. The resolution to the mentioned problems is then revealed, which is essentially the theme of the poem. Justification: The contemporary world is in dire need of art and literature, which can create environmental awareness. This poem persuades the readers to make efforts towards environmental protection regardless of their profession.
